Leaving Pearson

This page contains important information about your benefits after you leave Pearson. Please review the sections pertaining to the plans you participated in as an active Employee. Should you have any questions about this notice, or the plans you participated in, please email People Care at PPSMHR@pearson.com. It is important to keep the People Care updated regarding any change of address after leaving the company.
If you are a member of the Healthcare scheme, your membership will continue until your last day in the business. Should you wish to enrol into Aviva’s self-paid continuous program which allows employees to maintain access to the private healthcare plan without the need for underwriting, kindly contact Aviva directly on 0800 142 142. Employees must apply within 45 days from their departure date.
If you are a member of the Dental scheme, your membership will continue until your last day in the business. No further benefit will be available to you for treatment received following your last day. This will also apply to treatment which had been approved prior to the end of the month or which may be in midcourse. However, you may be entitled to benefit from continued cover by enrolling on an individual plan directly with Unum. Please contact the claims helpline on 020 7488 9880 and ask for the individual enrolment team.
Eyecare coverage ends on the last day of employment.
If you’re part of the Cycle to Work scheme and still have a remaining loan balance, that amount will be subtracted from your final net pay. If your net pay doesn’t cover the outstanding balance, a member of the HR team will contact you to discuss and arrange an alternative payment schedule with the company for the remaining amount.
If you are enrolled in the Childcare Voucher scheme, your membership will lapse on the last day of employment. If you have any credit remaining in your account, you will be given the opportunity to spend this before your account is suspended. If you have a Season Ticket Loan, any outstanding monies will be deducted in full from your final salary. Should your final salary not be enough to cover the full outstanding amount then you will be responsible for paying the remaining amount prior to your leave date.
If you are a member of the Pearson Pension Plan, your active membership ends on your last day of employment and your contributions will also cease. After your date of leaving, the pensions team will write to you at your home address, setting out your pension benefits and options. You can find further information about the Plan:

If you are a member of the Save For Shares scheme, we will notify Fidelity that you are leaving. Fidelity will update their registry with your leaver information and will notify you by post which will contain instructions on the next steps. Call the dedicated Save For Shares helpline on +44 (0) 333 300 1928. The Save For Shares helpline is available from Monday to Friday, 8:30–5:30 UK time, excluding public holidays in England and Wales.
